| Last fortnight | Studio A | Studio B |
|---|---|---|
| Leads | 84 | 81 |
| Lead to trial conversion | 22% | 23% |
| Trial to member conversion | 68% | 66% |
| Leavers | 7 | 8 |
| Attending more than once a week | 61% | 59% |
| Action given by area manager | Lift lead calls to 100 / week | Focus on member retention |
Illustrative example. Neither manager was wrong: one had the CRM export open, the other had the member-system report.
Leads sit in the CRM, joins and freezes in the member system, revenue in two systems that disagree, benchmarks in a hand-edited spreadsheet, and last review’s actions in someone’s notebook.
Conversion counted period-based in one report and cohort-based in another is how a network ends up with trial-to-member conversion above 100%. Open-ended freezes inflate the active member count and understate churn.
Two studios with near-identical numbers get different priorities, because each area manager was reasoning from a different partial picture. Meanwhile, much of their week goes on assembling data rather than coaching.
Answer from what you know today. “Don’t know” is a valid answer, and it tells you something too.
Operations leaders — COOs, VPs and Directors of Operations, founders — at multi-site fitness franchisors with roughly 20 to 50 studios, where area managers review studio performance regularly.
No. You can answer from what you know today, and “don’t know” is a valid answer. For the two critical questions, a quick look at trial-to-member conversion by studio over six months, and at how freezes are counted, will make your result sharper.
They are an estimate built from your inputs. The defaults — 10 studios per area manager, 5 reviews a week, 4 hours of assembly per review, USD 45 or INR 500 an hour, 48 working weeks — come from an illustrative 50-studio example and are labelled as such on the page. The currency switch picks which of the proposal’s two hourly figures you start from; it is not an exchange-rate conversion. Change any of them to match your network.
Your answers stay in your browser and your score is worked out there — we never receive the answers themselves. What does leave the page, as on any page of this site, is ordinary web analytics: an event when you finish the check, carrying your score and band but nothing you typed, and our visitor-analytics provider, which identifies the company a visit came from rather than the person. Your name, email, brand and role reach us only if you fill in the form, and we don’t share your details with third parties. See our privacy policy for the full list.
A fixed-price, two-week engagement at USD 6,000 (INR 1,50,000). We map your systems and metric owners, audit three sample studios across CRM, member system and accounts, score every KPI red, amber or green with the broken records behind it, and hand you a written Data Trust Report you keep either way. If you go ahead with a build, the fee is credited in full. We need one operations sponsor, one systems contact, read-only access to your CRM and member system, your current scorecard, and three sample studios.
About five minutes. Twelve questions in four areas, answered from what you already know.
